Christmas for a friend...

Yesterday, I told you about a couple of items

I have been finishing for my friend Patty...

She's safely at the ranch, 

so she can not see these! 

(no computers at the ranch...)

They have an RV with a couple of twin beds in it,

so I made her these pillows for them...

and

I started the little quilt a year ago,

but was too afraid to quilt it - 

*sigh*

But now it is finished!!!

Anyway,

It is for her beautiful home.

Finally, the little pink pocket is for her 

brand new DROID phone... 

nice job, Santa!

I thought it was fun 

since the print has 

barbed wire on it...

*big grin*

Off to bed I go...

Good night everyone!

And the house grew quiet...

The house has been full of wonderful noises...Jillie barking, the kids playing Monopoly into the wee hours of the morning, little Cotton escaping only to run back to her little house being chased by Jillie barking...LOL!

The last of the children left today from our home in Sugar Land and Bill and I are here finishing up some odds and ends so we can head back to the ranch for the New Year!

Our dear friends, Patty and Butch are going to be there and we are looking forward to a hopefully new tradition that will follow us into our retirements!

And of course Mr. Bill putting the lights on...that's a man's job!

This one speaks for itself! LOL!

Can you tell she's a college kid?

Only a few of our gifts...not all the kids were able to make it to the ranch...

I love this man.

You aren't seeing double...Miss Cotton is on the right...and Mr. Keen is on the left...Our daughter brought her little rabbit...and Miss Cotton is NONE too PLEASED...

This is what our daughter gave us ...it is perfect for our new home at the ranch...

and, it's not Christmas Eve to me without this...

That's Bill's dad...he came over to the ranch for our dinner...sweet man.

We had a wonderful time at the ranch - our home there isn't finished, but well on it's way

and we just wanted to give Mr. Bill this time to enjoy what he has made...

I have been sewing this week...and there's a bunch to share...

but I cannot show it, since Miss Patty reads my blog!

The Twelve Gifts of Christmas...Day ELEVEN!

Oh my!!! Forgive me for being 

an hour and a half late!!!

I went to the ranch this weekend to get 

ready for our first Christmas there--

We have been building our home 

there now for 2 1/2 years...

Well, my sweet man has been, and I have been 

just a little helper!

But it's a five and a half hour drive,

and I got out a little late!!!

Before I go on, I want to tell my friend 

Patty - THANK YOU for being

my hands for the last two nights!!!!

She faithfully waited by her computer 

until I would call at 9:30 p.m.

both nights and then I would walk her through 

how to post the posts I had done before

I left!!!!  She had to help me pick 

the winners each night ~ and then

she would just type their 

number and name

in for me!!! 

(blackberries don't work so well!!!)

She did a great job and I love her 

for letting me count on her

to make sure I didn't let you all down!!!

Every year the families on our street,

come together on the second weekend

of December for a progressive dinner...

Rotating each year, three of the families 

 volunteer to sponsor appetizers, 

the main course and desserts

in their homes for the rest of us...

Not only have we gotten to know each other

so much better, we get to welcome newcomers

and catch up on how our year has gone.

We laugh, tell stories, and share 

in each other's lives

AND

eat GREAT FOOD!
