The Baby Girl...

There are some days when hard work just pays off...
My youngest daughter Samantha, is the perfect example of that.
When she came to us, her life was upside down...
She used to think making D's was a goal.
In High School, we learned she hadn't had even the
most basic of building blocks to be successful in Math.
Bless her heart, multiplication tables were an enigma.

But she never gave up trying...working...trudging forward.
There were days she wanted to quit.
Days that seemed like she would quit.
But her faith in God gave her the strength to keep moving.

When Samantha was accepted to Texas Tech, I cried...BIG TEARS.
Some were for the accomplishment sure...but mostly because she was
moving to Lubbock...over 500 miles from home.
See this fountain? This reminded me of all God's promises for Sam that
we prayed over her while she was there.
God had so much for her in the palm of his hands, and we just prayed
He would just pour it over her...
He did...and then some...

And then came her senior year at Tech...
Her hardest class she had saved til the last semester..
Any guesses? Yep. Algebra.
You heard me...Oh man....
Up until the last week, she was swinging away trying to finish...
we were praying she would just pass.
HA.
God had one last great thing to pour over her.
She made a B in that class!!!

Amazing Love.

So here we were, it was finally her day to shine.
She had on a beautiful dress, and a graduation gown.
But the sweetest thing she wore was that smile.
She had done it.
We all stood tall that day in the audience when they called her name.
We held up signs like we were fans at the WWE!
(World Wrestling Entertainment, for those
of you that don't have date nights on Monday night
with your hubby to watch
Monday Night RAW)   :)
She looked up from her seat, and we could all see it.
That smile.
I will never forget it all the days of my life.

When it was all said and done, she drove past us and proudly held up
her diploma.
You know, after the month we had all had, to see this was a reminder
of God's grace and unchanging love.
He truly is a God of restoration.
He granted my baby girl a victory.

Why wax so sentimental?
I will tell you why.
She is a remarkable young woman
and her daddy and I
are very proud of her.

Samantha, you did it.

Jesus, you carried her.

Daddy you paid for it.

AND Me?
I just get to brag about her!

Cowgirls N' Angels...

So lots going on in our little family...
As many of you know, I have no less than FIVE children...
With that comes many many hours of fun, excitement
and future plans these days!
You will have to stay tuned...

First one...
My oldest daughter Jennifer and her sweet husband are hosting
this at their house in Stillwater, OK...

Photos and story by Neel Arora
(Article from the Stillwater newspaper, Newspress )

Filmmakers were shooting scenes at the
Payne County Expo Center
Thursday for the movie "Cowgirls N' Angels."
The film is about a girl looking for her father along
the rodeo circuit. James Cromwell and Bailee Madison star.
Hundreds of Stillwater-area residents signed up to be extras.
The film crew shot scenes at a
Stillwater house Tuesday. (MY DAUGHTER'S HOUSE!)
Scenes also are being shot in Guthrie and Pawnee.
Cromwell's lengthy career includes the human
lead in the popular pig movie "Babe,"
and roles in "Star Trek,"
"L.A. Confidential" and "24."
Bailee Madison starred with
Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in "Just Go With It."

They "dumbed" it down to make it look like a single mom
could have lived here...
(their words, not mine...)

The movie trailers lined the tiny streets...I bet this was a HOOT!

So...where are my daughter and beloved SNL while all this
is going on you ask?
IN A WONDERFUL HOTEL for the week!
FREE!
Awesome!

Now, we all knew them when...
LOOK for the movie when it comes out..
may be on the big screen or Lifetime..
but either way... I will be WATCHIN!

tomorrow...
can we say TWO for the price of ONE?
Come back and you will get it...

Hello Again, Hello...

(pause my music at the bottom of the page to watch the video)

Well, I have found that in any situation in life, there is a song...
Ok, so usually for me it will be a Neil Diamond song,
but that's who I am...  :)
Sew...Hello AGAIN!
I think I am back this time for good!
This has been a whirlwind couple of months,
but I refuse to give up! God is faithful and so will I be.
I am mailing out all my late blocks tomorrow
and will start the day tomorrow with a clean slate!
No more slacking here!
I promise to have an actual REAL post tomorrow
with some of the items I have been working on
and some photos of the ranch...Normal is BACK!

Hang in there everyone, I have some really
good stuff to show you!
Get Excited!
Love,
Lana

A Mission Accomplished...and Mother's Day!

Wow...this was a VERY tough choice...

I REALLY LOVED all of them...

but these four stuck out as clear modern ideas...

So I took the fabric and looked over
how each design would look with
the fabrics I had chosen...
and there was a clear winner...
Even against what I thought I would pick...(Stray Stitches)

 And here it is...
I will make more blocks to make it queen size,
but this is the favorite...

I just loved the "floating" blocks so much...

All of the ideas were awesome but I also
had to consider the time it would take to
put it together and have it ready in short order...
not to mention being able to show
off each of the fabrics...

Everyone gave me so MUCH to think about
and
I loved them all and already have each of
the patterns earmarked for future projects...
