John 3:17
"For God sent not his Son
into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved."
What an enormous gift...we could
never out-give God.

Congratulations!!!
Now...on to day EIGHT!!!!
Remember...
In the spirit of the season,
I thought I would give a few gifts...
Twelve to be exact!
Here's how this will work...
In the span of 12 days,
I will be gifting a "present" a day!
Every night at 10 p.m. (CST) --
a winner will be chosen
and your gift will go out the next business day!
You only need to leave a comment
on today's post...
Every year the families on our street,
come together on the second weekend
of December for a progressive dinner...
Rotating each year, three of the families
volunteer to sponsor appetizers,
the main course and desserts
in their homes for the rest of us...
Not only have we gotten to know each other
so much better, we get to welcome newcomers
and catch up on how our year has gone.
We laugh, tell stories, and share
in each other's lives
AND
eat GREAT FOOD!
What is your favorite Christmas event?
See you tomorrow night!!!!
AT TEN O-CLOCK!!!
Remember, leave me a way to contact you if you win..
I love the children's school Christmas concerts.

The crib service on Christmas Eve in our local church - we live next door to the church and my husband is often called upon to play the organ!
ReplyDeleteHearing the first Christmas carol on the radio always makes me grin!
ReplyDeleteIt has to be seeing so many family members. The family has grown so much in the 40 years we have been married and our extended family is so widespread it is hard to see a lot of them.... even our immediate family doesn't get together as often as we used to. At Christmas we get to see more family members and some years it is the only time we get to see each other. It is difficult when most of our family is spread across Canada... mostly in Ontario and we live in the US....it is lots of traveling and sometimes the winter snow storms makes the traveling difficult...but well worth it when we finally share a hug!!!
ReplyDeleteI love when the church choir presents its Christmas musical. The music & singing are beautiful
ReplyDeleteFor the last few years we have gone to see Handels Messiah. It's so amazing to hear beautiful voices singing the Word of God.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas events is the big family Christmas dinner at my SIL.
ReplyDeleteI love the red dining room. My SIL has that too and it looks so festive at Christmas and just beautiful the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite festivities is enjoying dinner at our son's home followed by a trip to look at Christmas lights. The children get so excited and we make bets as to how many Santas we will see each year.
What is your favorite Christmas event?, my fave event's when we put little Jesus image in the Nativity, and then make a prayer. After that, open the presents :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite event is a local concert called Lessons and Carols - modeled after the one in England. They go through 9 lessons from Scripture, and have songs that go with each one. It's a family tradition to go every second weekend of December. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite events is going to "The Nutcracker" with my mom each year.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas event is a yearly display of Nativity scenes at a local church. Thisyear there was over 250 different ones!

My favorite Christmas events are the concerts, band and choral that my family are in. I am the only one who doesn't sing or play an instrument so I am always the audience. I just love it. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas event is the Lessons & Carols concert at a local church...actually it's about an hour away, and we have to drive over the mountain to get there. But we look forward to it every year. The choir comes down the aisle with lighted candles singing Once in Royal David's City. It's beautiful. debgiro at wildblue dot net
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas event is when the family gathers at my mother's - 4 generations - to eat dinner and exchange presents. It is casual, low key, and happy times. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com
ReplyDeleteIt used to be getting up early Christmas morning and sitting by my sweet husband with a cup of coffee as the boys opened their presents. Now that they're grown, I'm trying to find new activities. Anything I do with family during the holidays is special whether it's shopping, baking, sharing a meal or just sitting together and remembering the funny things we've done in the past.
