Grayson William Maxwell...where are you???

Dear little GB Gray,
Gigi and Papa have been waiting for you for a very long time...
almost 9 months now...
I was so hoping you would be here now...
but that's ok...you can be my Valentine...
After all, that is when you are supposed to really arrive.

Until then, I have been one busy Gigi...

Your mommy asked me to make this pattern for you..
(Giant Hexie Quilt Pattern by Blueberry Park)

And, She picked out all the Riley Blake Fabrics...
I just KNOW you will love them...
They are so bright and soft....

Papa and I may live in Texas, but we will be there as soon
as we can if you choose to arrive before your due date...

Until then, we are praying for your Daddy and Mommy,
your healthy arrival,
and our safe travels when it comes time..

Be good, and in a little while,
I can tell you all this in person after you are all wrapped up in
your new little quilt.

We love you Grayson...

:)

Top Secret and a Star...

I have been working in my studio on a

TOP SECRET

project now for about 2 months...
I CAN NOT WAIT to show it to you...
It is the design work of one of my favorite ladies...
(not to be revealed yet...)
and it took an entire VILLAGE of blogging friends to help pull it off...
Now in the final stages, I am VERY excited to have it almost ready...

Can I share it with you yet?
NO!
But does it count that I really WANT to???

:)

**************************
But, I digress...

I did have the opportunity to take a break last night and be an Angel.

Sometimes I will get a note from my last block swap group -
aka: The Block Swap Adventure, to be an angel
to someone that didn't receive a block.
I LOVE doing it, and so I usually say yes when given the chance...

This little block was for a sweet lady named Dawnelle out in Arizona.

It is rare that someone requests something in Batik...
and then gives purple as one of their color choices.
but YES! I had both!!!!

The fabric is from Hoffman Fabrics / Bali Strips / BT 226 Seaholly .
These are hand painted and GORGEOUS!

I mean the detail on these squares is some of my absolute favorite
batiks material EVER.

If you aren't a fan now of Batiks...you will be.
This fabric is some of the best I have ever quilted on.
You will love it!

This Moment...

. . . . . . . . .
{this moment}
A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

A Special Meeting...

Meet Miss Sue.
She is a sweet lady that I met here on my blog.
Almost every time I have posted..
She has commented. Always kind, always encouraging!
Whenever I see her name, it makes me smile.
This past week, this sweet lady mentioned
to me she was coming to Houston
for business.
I took a chance and asked her to dinner.
She accepted...
and oh...it was so nice to put a face to all those comments.

We had a really good time...even in a very
noisy restaurant...but we talked about all
our favorite quilting blogs, fabrics and fabric designers.
Before we knew it...it was 10 o-clock! Wow!
We even kept talking once we  reached her hotel!

Such a lovely lady...just look at her...

It is so true...but quilters are some of the nicest people...

Then...yesterday.
I opened my mailbox and saw a package.
I thought it was something else I had been working on
until I opened it.

I realized it was Sweetwater's new line called Road 15.
What???
I looked a little closer...
and there was Miss Sue's name.

Goodness!!!!
What a wonderful surprise!

Thank you Miss Sue...
For this lovely fabric!!!! from my favorite designer...
in my favorite colors!!!!

But most of all, thank you for always being such a
bright moment in my comments section...
and for the really FUN time meeting you!!!!

Hugs Hugs Hugs!!!

Snow, Showers and Realizations...

What a wonderful weekend we had with our Son David and His Ashley...
We realized a few things on this trip...

That as you can see, there was SNOW around everywhere... YAY!

That on our little tour of Solon Iowa
we saw some of the prettiest little homes
this side of Heaven I am sure...

That even the deer LOVE SNOW...
as clearly evident by the "Buck Angel" pictured above.

That my beloved son...actually can walk on water.
FROZEN water that is...hehehe

That you can spell your husband's name out in the snow....
if you really focus and run in cursive.
(love that Mr. Bill you know...)

That there's a sweet little room filled with goodies for
a new GB on the way...

That memories can be recorded on a baby's onesie and not leave a stain...

That no less than FIVE generations (counting the baby)
can be photographed together without using Photoshop..
(Gigi, Great-Great Grandmama - 97 yrs very young, Mama, Grandmama, Great-Grandmama)

That I love my son more than words could ever be spoken or written...

That sitting on the airplane to come home brings a few
life-changing realizations...

Because you see, just as I whispered with tears in my eyes
and a choking my voice in my son's ear when I hugged him goodbye...

"the next time I see you David...
You will be a Daddy".

For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD.
"They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
