Opening success...

It was a wonderful and busy day, and we loved meeting
everyone that came out to visit us at our Grand Opening!
We met so many sweet quilters...what a blessing!

oh...and...

Thank you couldn't even convey how we feel for all our
family and friends that helped us out!
We could have never done it without you!

We are looking forward to what's to come
and so grateful for where we began
in this tiny little shop full of new quilty friends...

Just sippin' a little Texas Tea...

The Saturday Ladie's Tea was wonderful...
When Cindy called me to come and sing I was thrilled...she is one of those people that isn't just a friend. She's family.

And Bro. John...was my first music director...the one who gave me an opportunity to sing in our choir...and then eventually encouraged me to sing on my own...
and even after they moved and began their own church, he and Cindy came all the way back to Kilgore just to sing for my
 mama's Homegoing.

Yes.
They are my family.

And this is Mary...
I was so glad she came with me -
We both made some new friends that day...
What a blessing to have real friends.
Isn't she lovely?

I thought I would share a few of the tables...
Each one was decorated by a different lady...
Some with personal china..
Some with a little whimsy...
and some with prizes galore...
but all with beautiful tea cups.

I hope you enjoy them as much I did!

And Cindy made that delicious "secret" sauce for the fruit...

She SAID she would give me the recipe....

and she will....

And those little jewels are CREAM PUFFS! I had never had them before...

Oh, but I have NOW!!!!

YUM YUM YUM!

Have a good week everyone...
Take a little time to sip a little tea
in one of your finest cups...
and be a queen for the day...

Anyone wanna dance?

There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed.
If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude.

Quote from "Such a Sew and Sew"...and it was appropriate for today's post...

This weekend was very busy for us, I was home with my friend Joyce, who is courageously battling Breast Cancer - and winning I might add...   :) While my sweet husband and my other best friend, Patty and her hubs were at our ranch in the Hill Country...putting in that gorgeous floor I posted here...
We know that the sheetrock is supposed to go on the walls first, but, as the "help factor" would have it, Butch and Patty G. could only come last weekend, so we gladly said YES!

Thank YOU BOTH my wonderful friends... Remember, "Me Casa, YOU Casa"
(I know, but that's how Texans say and spell it...hahahaha)
I don't want to leave out my youngest son...
MR. SUPER COOL RYAN the FIREFIGHTER-
You did a GREAT JOB SON!
THANK YOU!

And, then,
For my man...  Bill, I love you so much.
You have built this house inch by inch, nail by nail and piece by piece.
I don't have words to say how I feel about all you have done for me. This is way too beautiful!

They sent me pics and texts all weekend to keep me up to date and I couldn't have been more thrilled! Here's the results! I haven't seen it in person yet, but I can't wait!

This is unfinished Brazilian Tiger Wood
This is the living room space
This is the view from the living room into the kitchen

While my sweet friend rested this weekend and the house was quiet, I did get some sewing done...I will post those tonight or tomorrow...and of course, you guessed it...they were gifts for my sweet friends that slaved in the hot "desert temps of 104" this past weekend on behalf of our floor... Patty and Butch!
Have a good Monday everyone!

A long time ...

Well hello there! I haven't been purposely ignoring my blog - I have visited regularly with a longing to just write one more entry...but...I had misplaced my password then the email I used to set up my blog was no longer my email...you get the picture...
BUT, after what seems to have been an eternity, I AM FREE!

NOW It's Friday, and what better day to start back in again...
I wanted to post some of what I have been working on since last winter...

I finished my
Quilts for Kids #2
Checkers and Baseballs

and
Quilts for Kids #3
Martian and Spaceships

I visited my daughter and SNL - and helped her paint the kitchen in their first home...

then on to her livingroom... and more painting...

How about some random sewing at the ranch on my new quilting machine...

and that led to my little Cotton getting her own little quilt...

It's been a fun Winter, Spring and Summer...one filled with family, new friends, and giving...
Oh wow...I am so happy to have access here again...
I have SO MUCH MORE to show you!
Happy Friday everyone!

Sewing for friends

Wow...this was a task for sure!...but I finished!
This is something I did for my friend Patty and her mom...(my mom #2)

I can't wait to give it to them tomorrow!
Not too bad for a first try!
YIPPEEEE!!!! I love my new sewing machine!

A few years back...3 maybe?

A little over 3 years ago, our little quilt shop grew up. We moved to a larger space and hired more employees. So much has happened in thos...
