Just sippin' a little Texas Tea...

The Saturday Ladie's Tea was wonderful...
When Cindy called me to come and sing I was thrilled...she is one of those people that isn't just a friend. She's family.

And Bro. John...was my first music director...the one who gave me an opportunity to sing in our choir...and then eventually encouraged me to sing on my own...
and even after they moved and began their own church, he and Cindy came all the way back to Kilgore just to sing for my
 mama's Homegoing.

Yes.
They are my family.

And this is Mary...
I was so glad she came with me -
We both made some new friends that day...
What a blessing to have real friends.
Isn't she lovely?

I thought I would share a few of the tables...
Each one was decorated by a different lady...
Some with personal china..
Some with a little whimsy...
and some with prizes galore...
but all with beautiful tea cups.

I hope you enjoy them as much I did!

And Cindy made that delicious "secret" sauce for the fruit...

She SAID she would give me the recipe....

and she will....

And those little jewels are CREAM PUFFS! I had never had them before...

Oh, but I have NOW!!!!

YUM YUM YUM!

Have a good week everyone...
Take a little time to sip a little tea
in one of your finest cups...
and be a queen for the day...

  1. All of the tables were beautiful. Reminds me of the table decorating competition held at the county fair.

We lived in Kilgore from 1979 to 1988! I taught school there!(first pre-K, then 1st grade for a couple of years and then 2nd grade.)I could have crossed paths with your Mama.
