The Twelve Gifts of Christmas...Day Nine!

My favorite decorations
come from my sister-in-law Kathy...
Many years ago, she would make
me a different Old World Santa -
one every year.
There hasn't been a Christmas in over
15 years that they haven't
been proudly on display...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have enjoyed getting to
know a little bit about each of you
through this holiday season...
Tonight's GIFT goes to....
# 13
SARAH!!!!
(These are all chosen by Random Integer, I am just not smart
enough to get the widget on here!!! )
Congratulations!!!
Now...on to day NINE!!!!
Remember...
In the spirit of the season,
I thought I would give a few gifts...
Twelve to be exact!
Here's how this will work...
In the span of 12 days,
I will be gifting a "present" a day!
Every night at 10 p.m. (CST) --
a winner will be chosen
and your gift will go out the next business day!
You only need to leave a comment
on today's post...
When the holidays come around,
I begin to think about how I want to
decorate our home...
For me, that is one of the best
things about Christmas!
Do you have favorite decorations
that are included every year?
Are they handmade?
Have special meaning?
See you tomorrow night!!!!
AT TEN O-CLOCK!!!
Remember, leave me a way to contact you if you win...
  1. My favorite is a painting of Santa Claus done by my youngest son who was 5 at the time. I've had it framed and it has gone up every year since then. He is now 29! (I even have a picture of it on my blog that I put up a couple of weeks ago.)I also always put up a "gumdrop tree" just like my aunt and uncle had when I was a child.
  2. My favorite are the wreaths....probably because they are the easiest with the most impact. ;-)
  3. Probably my nativity scene is my very favorite and then the blown glass ornaments that look like what was on the tree when I was a kid.
  4. Yes all the favourites come out of storage each year. I especially love the ones the children did when they were young. Homemade ornaments wall hangings all bring happy memories.
    Happy days.
  6. I bring out a lot of decorations that the children have made. Also some that I have made. I've also got some from swaps I've done through the internet.
  7. My hubby and I have had the same Christmas stocking ever since we first married. I embroidered our names on the cuff. So for over thirty years we've filled these stockings :-)
  8. I don't have many Christmas decorations. Most of what I have was given to me. I have a stuffed Santa bear that I have to put out. It was given to me by a dear friend. I have a nativity scene that was given to me by a wonderful co-worker. I cannot wait because as my son grows up, I'll start getting the wonderful things that he'll make. :)
  9. My favorites include all the snowmen that I've collected and, of course, our Nativity. A special ornament was crocheted by a friend for my husband's and my first Christmas. It has Tom / Deb crocheted on one side and '80 on the other. It's 30 years old this Christmas and still goes at the top of the tree right under the angel.
  10. I have my Mom's stocking from when she was a little girl, made, I believe, by my great grandmother. It is very special to me, and Santa still fills it every year... :)
  11. We haven't been decorating much the last couple of years but will this year for our grandsons. I do have a collection of Santa's that make it out of the cupboard each year.
  12. I have so many favorites that I need a lot of room to put them all out. SOme are from my grandmother and I remember them from when I was little. SOme are made by my children and often have a little picture of them when they made them and some are handmade by friends and family for the tree or wall.
  14. My favorite decoration is my mother's nativity scene music box that we display and play every Christmas season. It is right at the front door where all will see it when they come to visit and a reminder of the reason for Christmas. Thanks for the photos of your Santa collection from your talented SIL.
  15. My favorite decorations would have to be the Christmas ornaments that I had a florist make to decorate Christmas trees at my son and daughter-in-laws wedding on Dec 22, 2001. All the guests got to pick an ornament off the tree and there were about 36 still on the trees after the reception was over.......I now decorate my tree every year with the ornaments. Brings back so many memories of their wedding.
  16. Is the star above your santas fabric? It's beautiful! I'm still trying to build traditions, my DDs are 4 and 6. Give it time, I'm sure and I hope. :)
