you KNOW there are some VERY talented ladies out there....
Some were soooo good, I was SPEECHLESS...
Thank you to the Think Ruffles Blog Hop hostesses
and
Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt.
I love all these hops...they challenge you and push you
to try new things...
I have done ruffles before...but this time...
was just fun!
I want to start with a project I did last week for a friend's daughter
that was getting married...
She wanted a garter to keep...see above..
and one to throw away...
You can't see it...but the dark area in the middle is a portion of the groom's
camouflaged shirt...she wanted something old ...and it worked out sooo cute!
My second little project started from these lovelies..
Kate Spain's fabric line called Terrain...
I have had squares pieced together in rows in my closet forever...
and this was the perfect project to pull them out and finish them up!
With a few rows of ruffles, strips and stationary ruffles...
It was just enough color and variety to allow the white space at the bottom..
The quilting decorated the white space and was a first for me to try...
I love how it screams GIRL!!!!
This little baby took just under two evening to complete...
WIN WIN!
This is a little bag I did a while back..
those ruffles are made from a shirt I loved,
but I didn't love it ON me...hehehe
I actually sold this one!
and just a few others...bags seem to be my favorite thing to ruffle!
I hope you enjoyed visiting me today...
PLEASE

You won't be disappointed!

ReplyDeleteGreat ruffles. Love the bags, especially the first one ( that you sold). The voile fabric ruffles really are fun. And the quilt. Simple, with just enough "stuff" to make it both fun and elegant. Sorry I don't have a little baby girl, but I am expecting a brand new great niece in about two months. Great idea for a quilt for her. Her three year old brother Burke wants to name her Bryan (?!??!).
ReplyDeleteForgot to say that the garters are absolutely marvelous. Makes me want to get married again, something I said I'd never do after my divorce.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful projects!! The garters are fab; I'm so glad to told us about the groom's shirt fabric. What a lucky bride! The quilt is totally cool; I loved that you added those ruffles; a real splash of surprise. Your fabric choice in the bag is wonderful and puts a whole new light into "bag".

ReplyDeleteLooks like you are were having fun. The ruffles were a great addition to the quilt top and takes the quilt to another level, I think! And look at all the ruffled-y bags. Well done, Lana.
ReplyDeleteYou sure were busy! My favorite is the quilt! Love that!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have had great fun with ruffles:)
ReplyDeleteThe wedding garters are beautiful! I love the baby girl quilt with ruffles! I love your bags too, especially the one in Sweetwater fabric.
ReplyDeleteYou have shown us so many ways to use and incorporate ruffles. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSo many great ruffled projects! The purse you made from the blouse you loved (but didn't love you-totally understand) is awesome. The grey groomsman piece is lovely and will be wonderful in the wedding. Thank you for sharing so many goodies.
ReplyDeleteAll your projects are absolutely gorgeous. I like the idea of having two garters - one to throw and one to keep. The camo fabric is a great touch. The little girl quilt is adorable. As I was seeing it come together, I kept thinking that I need to plan one for my granddaughter Jessika who is 8 months old. And all your purses are great! What a great idea to turn a blouse that you love and it doesn't love you into a purse. I once bought and took back the same outfit three times because I loved it and the color just washed me out and it didn't come in another color. So, I totally get that picture. Thanks for participating and being a great inspiration.
