your breath as you write it!)
See you tomorrow night!!!!
AT TEN O-CLOCK!!!
There are so many Christmas songs that I like. Maybe it's because we only hear them once a year. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be Do You Hear What I Hear. This is the last part:
ReplyDeleteSaid the shepherd boy to the mighty king
Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, mighty king
Do you know what I know?
A Child, a Child
Shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Said the king to the people ev'rywhere
Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people ev'rywhere
Listen to what I say!
The Child, the Child
Sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light
What a wonderful idea - Count me in :)
ReplyDeleteThe Little Drummer Boy.....I love the rhythm and words...makes me sing along every time I hear it....'I played for Him, ba-rum-ump-ump-ump - on my drum. I played my best for Him, ba- rum-ump-ump-ump(etc...can't spell it all)
ReplyDeleteWhat Child is this who, laid to rest
ReplyDeleteOn Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
I like it because it tells of my Saviour! And it was my mother's favorite, too.
I love
ReplyDelete"I heard the bells on Christmas Day
their old familiar carols play
and wild and sweet
the words repeat
of peace on earth, good will to men."
Please do include me. I love Joy to the World. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love singalongs at Christmas time. I quickly learned, however, that I don't know the words to many songs. At our guild Christmas party, they started singing "Frosty The Snowman." I jumped right in, and got through about 1/4 of the song when I realized I was singing "mmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm" and "dum de dum de dum" a lot! Sheesh. They're all favorites, and the lyrics are all easy to remember, when they're mmmmm and dumdedumdedum!
ReplyDeleteI've had Christmas music on since Thanksgiving, especially in the sewing room. My favorite is "Im dreaming of a White Christmas. Just like the ones I use to know.... " which is so going to be so here in Rochester NY....Yay!
ReplyDeleteI love to hear "Im dreaming of a white Christmas" however, I must add, that if it is only white ON Christmas, that is just fine with me.. I am not so big on the cold weather!
ReplyDeleteLove Christmas music too..too many favorites... I'm a humming "I heard the bells on Christmas Day". Have a wonderful day Lana!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose........." that song just warms my heart. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love "Mary Did You Know". That song brings tears to my eyes. But music that really makes me feel Christmasy has no words - The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies from The Nutcracker Suite.
ReplyDeletesleigh bells ring, are you listening? in the lane the snow is glistening, a beautiful sight we're happy tonight...walking in a winter wonderland!!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo - I won!!!! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteNow for today's:
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Just like the one I used to know...........
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know. Love the movie too. We watch it at least once each winter. Thanks for the chance to win in your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Stray Stitches!! She's the reason I found your blog, so I'm glad she won....But now I'd love to win with Once in Royal David's City as one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteGive me Elvis doing "Blue Christmas" and I'm a happy happy girl.
ReplyDeleteLove them all! One fave is O come o come Emmanuel.
ReplyDeleteWhat would we all do without music? It hasn't been called the universal language for no reason. My quilt studio always has something going, even if it is only in my head!
ReplyDeleteWe're walking in the air
ReplyDeleteWe're floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly
I'm holding very tight
I'm riding in the midnight blue
I'm finding I can fly so high above with you
I love The Snowman and you're right - I can't type the words without humming along!
Gill
I love "Good King Wenceslas" although I don't hear it very often. And I love "Christmas in Kilarney" because it's so peppy and fun. But not by Bing Crosby, but the Clancy Brothers, I think. I also love "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" because it reminds me of a bus ride home from a shopping trip to New York that my mother and I were on. The driver was playing the radio and Rockin came on. The whole bus sang along. It was spontaneous and fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say, I think I love all of the traditional carols.
Oh! Come, oh come, Emanuel
ReplyDeleteand ransom captive Israel!"
It starts in my head on Thanksgiving and keeps playing until Christmas Eve.
The Little Drummer Boy is my favorite!! I can't sing ...trust me :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
Congratulations to straystitches!
ReplyDeleteSilent night Holy night All is calm All is bright
This is the song played on our nativity scene wind up music box. A favorite. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com
