Fabric Inheritance!

Don't you just love it when another
quilter decides to DESTASH?
...My sweet coworker Lori,
told her mom that I was a quilter...
The very next day, Lori came in
with a Huge bag of fabric scraps!
I couldn't believe it!
All vintage, all BEAUTIFUL!
Since then, every once in a while,
she has been sending me fabric
from time to time....

Isn't this the sweetest thing you have ever seen?
I am so distracted wanting to cut strips
of this for my scrappy quilt
that I can hardly work!!!

How do you say thank you to
another quilter that is so generous?
I can't imagine a single thing
to quilt for her that she couldn't
make for herself...
Anyone want to give me a few ideas?

Happy Friday Everyone!

  1. How exciting! Good for you. A suggestion for a gift would be a mug rug with a cup that matches.

  2. How lovely. You could make her anything. I know that it's always lovely to have something made for me even though I could make it myself. It's nice to think someone has put time and effort into making a gift.

  3. Nice. That is such a nice passalong gift. Have fun with your fabric.

  4. I have also been blessed by the generosity of another (is it a Texan trait?!) who posted me lots of fabric all the way to the UK and I made her a drawstring lined bag or 'Pants Bag' as I like to call them - great for travelling or even to use at home for bits and pieces. Whatever you make her, I'm sure it will be lovely :)

  5. Oh Lana lucky you but you are so generous that you really deserve it. My suggestion would be, because I love mine so much that you made me, is make her a lap quilt. I know it's bigger than a mug rug but that's what I would do.

  6. Lucky you! :-) Those prints look like they'll be so much fun to play with.

How about a mug rug? I'm becoming a big fan of those as a sort of quilted thank you card.

  7. Cute bags! What about a scrappy trip quilt?

  8. Oh Lana, you deserve these bags of 'treasures', as the saying goes....'what goes around, comes around'. The fabric scrapes have found a good home. I'd make one of those trip quilts that are popular now...I haven't started one yet but it is on my 'to do' list. Happy stitching, Pauline
