Redressing the Future Progress...

Remember this from yesterday?
Well, I am just working away!

The fun thing about this project
are all the patches are baby clothes...
the pink border is from the crib skirt and the flowered
sides are from the crib bumpers...
I love repurposing those as they looked like they
were a little expensive!

And now the fun part...I was a little worried about the
knit fabric squares...will those stretch when they are washed
if I don't quilt them? The span is only 4 inches...and the
batting instructions said up to six inches...
I sure would like to hear from some quilters
with more experience than myself...

I just couldn't bear to quilt over those little flowers...

So...I didn't...
Just needs a little binding!!!
I was getting way too excited when
I remembered this is a project for
TWINS...as in TWO sisters that are twins...

So...there is another one of these...
that will need ditto of this post!
Lucky for me that the quilting
is the fun part!

Seriously...These are now my favorites.
I really would like to know about those knit
squares though...any ideas out there?

Happy Tuesday!!!

Redressing for the future...

It's no secret if you are
following me on Instagram or Facebook...

but this stack came from these lovelies...

A friend of my daughter...who has TWINS...
wanted to find a way to keep her little girl's
dresses for a lifetime...

I received three or four (I forget now...) bags
like these full of clothes and bedding from
their cribs... What had I gotten myself into?...
:) :)

But look at them...I would want to keep them too!

It all looked so daunting though,
until I found this site...

Tara shares the list of blogs that inspired her!
Love when fellow bloggers do that!

Sew...

after looking at several  of the blogs and videos...

I decided on the above...

I have to say, I am a little surprised how
easy and fun this has been...

Have any of you out there made quilts like this?

Share!!!
I can use all the help I can get!

Stay tuned....

Let's play a game....

This is where I start with...
Long time no see.... or Hello Again...Hello.
How about this: Funny thing happened on the way to the blog...LAST JULY!

But let's not digress. Simply put, GRAND BABIES.
I now have them, REALLY LOVE them...but have also now, found a way to balance it all...
Maybe.  We'll see.

It's been a fun first year with my little Holdyn...
and soon to be first year with little Riggins...
so let's just see them right off the bat and get it out of the way...
I know you will see my delimma when you see those little faces....

Holdyn Kale / First Birthday Party w/ CAKE

Little Riggins.. 8 months old...and HAPPY!

Sew....let's get down to the business at hand...I REALLY HAVE BEEN SEWING...

I have a sweet friend that will have an almost Christmas baby boy...soon....and this one was for him...
There's a lot of pictures today...(it's been nearly six months since I last posted) but there's a fun contest at the end!

You know the drill..sew your strips together and cut...then make a little block...

Then just mix your borders around to suit your eye...

Once you get the right arrangement for yourself...sew those blocks together!!!

I wanted this to be a boy quilt..so I added some Kona Charcoal on the back
and quilted it "squared"...

Here's a closer look...I loved it.

Of course...being the bunny lady...(oh yes, I wear OTHER hats when I am not Gigi...)
I just had to add a few of these little cuties around the edge...
Not a popular thing, but I wanted the bunnies to show...
So, I made the back of the binding just a little wider to let my bunnies dance!

And once it was all finished...this is how it looked.

I love this line ...

and that Charcoal is never NOT going to be my favorite Kona Color...

Sew...here's the contest...
If you know the fabric line on the front of the quilt, or you recognize the binding...
Send me a comment and tell me what it is...

I will draw on Friday, December 14th
and the winner of all the CORRECT answers
will be mailed all the scraps from this project
and one other one.......and even a surprise charm pack!!!!

Who wants to PLAY?

Here's to coming back...
Just in time for Christmas!

A few years back...3 maybe?

A little over 3 years ago, our little quilt shop grew up. We moved to a larger space and hired more employees. So much has happened in thos...
