What's this stuff???

Ahhhhh...Thursday night was just what the weather man said it would be...
COLD with a touch of COLD!
So...we waited by the fireplace until the wee hours in the morning
waiting for the COLD to turn to SNOW!
Hey, that's a big happening in Houston/Sugar Land...
but I digress...

Ok, where was I? Oh...right...
Waiting up til the wee hours for SNOW...
As you can see, I was amply prepared to greet
little snowmen if any should become guests
in the dark of night...
as I had on my friendly snowman jammies and
they were in a friendly shade of pink...
*****************
Finally, my little eyelids were winning the battle
and so Mr. Bill and I headed off to bed
to point our toes toward heaven
so we could gleefully jump out of bed early
to be greeted by beautiful snowflakes
just begging to be introduced as little
SNOWMEN.
ahhhhhhh.
NICE.
*******************************

Fast forward five hours to day break.

To say I had a disappointing run
to the windows this morning
IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
COMPLETE AND UTTER DISMAY.

I mean come on!
What's this stuff???
Frozen WATER?

After all my welcoming plans, scarves laid out,
winter gloves neatly stacked,
precise snow apparel hand picked
and ready to greet the snow laden day?
I MEAN I WAS BELIEVING!!!
PRAYING EVEN!!!
(note desperate glove positioning here...)

NOT FUNNY.
JUST COLD.
I felt just like my daughter Kaitlyn when
she used to not get her way...
she would cross her arms,
smudge her little face up
look me dead in the eye
and say these immortal words.
"I'M MAD!"

Yep, Kait, I am following your lead today honey!

jk.
maybe.

  1. LOL, you poor thing! I love the snow. We don't get any here in Sacramento, but I lived in Anchorage for a couple of years and was always relieved but sad when winter was over!

  2. Love the post! You had me hoping right there with you. We get snow here in Bakersfield about once every ten years and we are long over due. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

  3. Lana I know how you feel! We had a tiny bit of sleet this am and now rain. I mean really rain! I realized it was all my fault, I forgot to wear my crystal snowflake necklace and rub it wishing for snow. Im wearing it now and wishing it will go your way ...snow...snow...snow...
